No Baby Yet

No news yet! Today is my official due date and no baby yet.  I was really hoping he would be early but I guess no such luck! Yesterday I went on a five mile walk hoping to kick start things, but nothing yet.....Everything is all set and our bags are packed!  Hopefully it will be in the next few days.....!

On Saturday we had a 'Big Sister Day' and did a bunch of things that Leah loved.  First we took her to a bouncy house place, and then to a playground.  Then we went to the mall and let Leah pick whatever she wanted for lunch.  She chose soft pretzel bites with mustard and an ice cream cone. :-)  This mall also has a big carousel that she got to ride when she was done with lunch.  We didn't get any pictures but we took lots of videos of our fun day.

We have been getting a little more done in the baby's room too.  Still a few more things to hang on the walls and then I will post some pictures.

Ugh these last few days of pregnancy are so annoying. I am pretty exhausted and just anxious for the big moment. When I first got pregnant and heard my July due date, I was hoping that the baby would be born in the beginning of August since July is such a busy month already.  I said that August 2 would be good since Leah's birthday is Feb 2 and they would be exactly 2 1/2 years apart.  So, maybe he is waiting for that day. :-)

Anyway, now I am just trying to enjoy my sleep, down time, and quality time with Leah.

Ready!

OK little baby boy, I am ready to meet you!! The anticipation of going into labor and becoming a family of four is driving me nuts!  I am 39 weeks now so I'm not overdue or anything, I am just hoping that this baby comes earlier rather than later.  Leah was one week late. I am so just ready to be done now.  I have everything ready and am obsessed with keeping the house clean and orderly so that I don't bring the baby home to disarray. And trying to keep on top of laundry, dishes and basic tidying up with a two year old is a never ending battle!

39 weeks!
Please disregard the late night sweats look, that is how I roll these days!  Tomorrow is Dustin's birthday and I think it would be the cutest thing ever for Daddy & son to share a b-day. But we'll see....!  I haven't been having any contractions or anything, just feeling heavier in general and zero energy, especially toward the end of the day.  I never had any with Leah either until I was in real labor.

Candid shot of my sweet hubby getting me my nightly ice cream. Yes, EVERY single night I have a big bowl of ice cream.  My favorite is cookies and cream with a bunch of fresh strawberries chopped up on top!
I am trying to keep us busy with plans this week, because things always seem to happen when you have lots going on!  I hope that my next post is to announce the arrival of our sweet baby boy...!

Waiting for Baby

I have gotten to the point where I feel ready for the baby to arrive and I am wanting to be done being pregnant!

The baby's room is set up for the most part, but honestly since he won't be sleeping in there for probably several months, I am not worried about it.  I have the changing table/dresser set up for him with his clothes all ready and washed.  And I am pretty sure I have all the other newborn baby essentials. It is crazy how just in 2 1/2 years you can forget little details!

The baby will be sleeping in our room in an arm's reach co-sleeper, so we have that ready too. Along with a diaper changing supply basket and super dim lamp set up for the middle of the night feedings and diaper changes.
Leah has been loving playing in it :)
Just needs to be hooked onto the bed now!
I got the infant car seat all clean and Dustin put in in the car last night!  It is weird seeing TWO car seats in the back of my car!

My friend Allison came over today and brought me the cutest gift ever!!
Love it!

It is really nerve wracking knowing that I could go into labor at any time now!  I kind of feel like it will be sometime next week but who knows?!

Here are some random cute pics of Leah from the last week -
Leah LOVES her friends Gracie and Cameron
Having a snack with Big Bird
This was so cute, she wanted to help me cut up a pineapple so she went to get her little plastic knife :)
Driving her friend Emmy's Barbie car!
Last week we had a fun playgroup with sprinklers, little pools and popsicles! This picture cracks me up because the kids set up the chairs like this themselves along the slip and slide :)

Overall I really am still feeling pretty good, mostly extra tired and just want to meet my baby boy!!

5 Year Anniversary

Yesterday Dustin and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary!  And this year also marks the 15 year anniversary of when we started dating!

A few years ago we talked about going back to Maui (where we got married) for our 5 year anniversary. But we didn't know that we would be expecting a baby in a few weeks so the new plan is to wait for our 10 year anniversary :-)

I went downstairs yesterday to find this gift -
I have been wanting a Keurig for a few years now, I am so excited!  I don't drink coffee while I am pregnant so I have to wait a few weeks before I can try it out. I should pick up some tea for it though!  This will come in handy for both me and Dustin when we have our newborn baby here :-)

Dustin also surprised me that evening with reservations at the Melting Pot for dinner so my mom came over to watch Leah.  Awhile back I was telling him that I wanted to go there just for the CHOCOLATE!
We did end up getting salads and one entree to share, but then got TWO different kinds of chocolate fondue to try. YUM YUM YUM!
The restaurant gave us a nice card and coupon for next time, and some sparkling cider for a toast.
Yesterday also marked the day that I am now considered full term, 37 weeks, so the baby could come any time now!  YIKES!!!

Sunny Weekend

Having a weekend all in the 80s around here means LOTS of fun time outside. I complain about the rainy, dreary weather the majority of the year, BUT when it is nice here, it is AMAZING!  We did a lot and I took way too many pictures :-)

First up, Friday evening me and my friend Kim had a girls night that included pedicures, dinner and a movie. We went to see Magic Mike and I thought it was completely stupid.  Pretty much a waste of time. If it would have been Channing Tatum doing dance routines the whole time it would have been better; he is an amazing hip hop dancer!  But even with the dumb movie, it was a fun girls night! I am trying to get out and do things as much as possible now because I have this fear that after this baby is born, my outings alone will be few and far between.....at least for the first several months!

A few months ago I posted about how we went to a Farmer's Market that had pony rides, and even though Leah showed interest, once we got up to them she chickened out.  Well last week she randomly said to me "I am ready to ride the ponies now, I'm not scared." Ha! Well, ok! So on Saturday morning that's what we did!  She got right on and was so excited! She cried when it was time to get off!!
Now she keeps asking to go back to the Farmer's Market to ride the ponies again!

That afternoon we set up a little hopscotch sprinkler that I got Leah for only $5!!  She loved it, perfect for her age! We just grilled hot dogs and played in our backyard the rest of the evening!

I am enjoying being pregnant this time of year much more than in the winter!

Sunday we decided to go to Newcastle Beach Park which is so much fun! We wanted to get there early to get parking since on nice days the beaches get super packed. It wasn't as bad as we thought thankfully. This place has a big grassy field, playground, and a beach right on the lake. We were there for a few hours before we wanted to get out of the sun and go home for lunch and Leah did NOT want to leave!

Snack time

Let's go in the water!
Leah made a friend and they had fun running from the little waves together
She was getting brave and went in pretty deep!
She tripped and fell and got upset :)
Fun weekend in the sun!

Summer is here!

Yesterday I got great weather for my birthday and it is supposed to stick around now for awhile.

I woke up in the morning to this gift from Dustin. A hummingbird feeder!
My mom brought over a bunch of yummy food and we went to the park for a picnic lunch.
Leah took a really long nap when we got home so I relaxed outside for awhile reading a book. Then when Dustin got home we went to dinner at the Olive Garden.

Today we went to our friends house to play in the sprinkler and water table!

Leah had SO much fun! Yay for Seattle catching up to the rest of the country with nice weather!

Happy 4th yesterday and Happy B-day to me today!

I hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July!  The 4th or 5th of July also usually means the first day of summer weather in Seattle, and this year was no exception. We actually have a about 5 big clear yellow balls in the forecast with no white clouds covering them :-).

Yesterday we had a birthday celebration lunch for me with part of the family.

We didn't have any plans for later that day which kind of bummed us out.  We knew we didn't want to go to any big fireworks shows with Leah or anything, but it would have been fun to have a big bbq or something. We will have to make sure to plan something for next year.
So we just hung around in our backyard, ate leftovers, and let Leah try out some pop-its and sparklers for the first time!
She loved throwing down the pop-its!
Stomp on them, haha!
Fireworks are too loud!

Sparklers are fun!
Only 27 days until my due date!!
We put Leah to bed at her normal time and despite LOUD fireworks around our area that lasted until around midnight, she slept through it! Phew! Dustin and I went outside to watch some coming from a nearby park and then we watched the local fireworks show on TV.

Today is my birthday - 31 yikes!  I soooo do not feel that age!  Dustin was bummed that he had to go to work today but my mom is coming over in a little while and we are going to the park for a picnic in the sunshine!
