Carter - 4 Months

Carter Layne is 4 months old!  He is getting more and more fun! At his checkup today he was 13lbs 14ounces.

He is starting to reach and grab and play with his toys. And now we are starting the phase of everything going straight to his mouth! 

Carter is such a happy baby. Everyone always comments on how mellow and smiley he is.  The only times he fusses is when he is bored and wants me to pick him up, or when he is super tired in the evening.

His sleep has been all over the place during the last month. I think he has been growing a lot and wanting to eat more. His was in such a good routine and now it is different every night. Sometimes he is up every few hours and sometimes, like last night, he will sleep an 8 hour stretch! It isn't too bad though since he gives me some full nights of sleep. :-)

Carter thinks that his sister is hilarious. He loves when she sings or dances in front of him. She will bring him toys and act silly to make him smile. I have heard her say to him "It's ok brother, it's ok!" when he is fussy. And another time I heard "Carter, you're the best!". It is sooooo sweet to them start to interact. I hope they will be best friends forever!!

He isn't hating tummy time as much and can now push up on his forearms and look around!

He is still exclusively breastfed. I have pumped a few times and given him a bottle a handful of times, including when we went on our first date night out. He doesn't really like the bottles and just kind of chews on the end to get the milk out.

Love this little boy SO MUCH!
