Leah's First Haircut!

This morning we took Leah for her very first haircut! I was sad at first to cut off her baby hair on the ends!  But it was getting pretty long and hard to brush.  We decided to take her to a cute place at the mall that is just for kids and they make a big deal of the first haircut.  We met up with Grammy and made a fun day of it! We weren't sure how Leah would do sitting still and everything but she did SO good and had fun feeling special!

Getting her hair washed! She stayed so still! She hates getting her hair washed in the bath at home!

Starting the haircut!
Daddy and Carter watching
We had the lady take off about 3 inches
Me and my mom were like the paparazzi :)
Blow dry
They did a pretty braid and Leah got to pick a barrette. She chose a pink one of course!
Glitter!!
Then she got to spin the prize machine and got a toy duck!
The salon took a before and after picture and put some of her hair in a bag for her baby book
Grammy got Leah a mini pink cupcake at the place next door for being such a good girl!
Love our girl!
Silly smiles!
After her haircut she played on the indoor play structure for a little while and then we walked around the mall and went to lunch.
Super fun day for all of us!

Carter - 3 Months

Carter is now 3 months old! Time is flying and I don't like it! :)

3 months old today!
Mid-sentence :)
Evening snuggles!
He is really discovering his hands and starting to try to grab onto things. He HATES tummy time!
He is starting to finally take a binky which we only use when he is fussy and wants to suck. It works sometimes but he still spits it out a lot. We don't use it at bedtime.
This is what happens when you have a big sister who thinks you are her doll!
Loves sitting up and watching Leah play. He thinks she is hilarious!
Leah is SO good with him. She brings him toys and turns on the music on his bouncy chair if he is fussy. Seriously so sweet and I am so proud of her.
I can't get enough of his snuggles!!!!
Carter is getting more and more fun!  He is awake a lot these days. He has started laughing which is the cutest sound ever! He is so smiley and happy (most of the time!). He is a great sleeper now. He usually takes a nap when Leah goes to bed around 8pm and then is awake from about 9:30 until we go to bed at 10:30-11. Then between that time and 7-8am he most nights only wakes up once! I think he needs to start going to sleep earlier. He takes little cat naps during the day. He doesn't like to nap in the co-sleeper though. Daytime naps are either in the car or while I am holding him.  It is very sweet to snuggle him but makes it hard to get things done while Leah is napping.
Carter is still exclusively breastfed. He has not had one drop of formula which makes me feel so confident and proud of myself as a mom. I don't think there is anything wrong with formula, with Leah we had to supplement from day 1 since she was not gaining weight fast enough. I don't know if I have a better supply this time or if I am just more dedicated. I have only pumped and given him bottles 3 times (I hate pumping). He took the bottle ok by the third try :) I have only been away from Carter for probably an hour total since he has been born and that was 3 different quick trips to the store!  I really don't feel like I need a break from him at all. Now that I have 2 kids, when I have just 1 at a time it feels like a vacation :)

First big boy outfit!
The days definitely go by faster these days!  I am trying to not get caught up with everyday stress and to enjoy this time with my babies since I know it will fly by too fast!

Halloween 2012

I hope everyone had a fun day yesterday! I just loved looking at all the cute kids in costume pictures!

We had so many Halloween activities leading up to the actual day this year that by yesterday Leah was kind of over it, haha!  We had our costume party last Friday, Halloween party at Daddy's office on Tuesday, and lots of fun themed projects at our kids museum class in the morning.  But we did get her to put on her costume one more time to go trick or treating in our neighborhood. :-)  Grammy came over to give the kids little gifts and went around to a few houses with us.

Carter's first Halloween!
Double fisting the lollipops! Her new favorite! She could care less about any of the other candy she got!
Silly girl :)
Cutie pumpkin

Let's go!
Leah made us knock on the door for her while she stood back to make sure it was safe :)

Worn out pumpkin :)
When we got home we answered the door to a few groups of kids before shutting off the porch light and calling it a night. :-)
