Date Night!

Tonight we went out to celebrate Dustin's birthday at Palisades Restaurant. It is one of our favorite restaurants, mostly because that is where we got engaged 4 1/2 years ago, awwwww! ;-)

We have been there several times, but not in a few years. And I think this was the first time we have come early enough to really be able to see and enjoy the view! I was lucky enough to reserve a table right by the window, and the view is AMAZING!

They have such a cool front entrance, with fish swimming around under the walkways.

Card and flowers from the restaurant

The view from our table

Another shot out our window with Mt. Rainier in the background.

Pomegranate raspberry mojito, yum!

Relaxing in the sun after dinner

Strolling through the marina

After dinner we took a long walk around the marina. Such a perfect day!

West Seattle Parade

So I guess I just needed to vent about the weather and being bored a bit for us to all of a sudden have 80 degrees and lots of fun activities! :)

This morning we did a family photo shoot down on the beach. I can't wait to see how the pics turn out!!  After that we got some lunch and went to watch the parade. Leah really liked the bands and dancers, but HATED the loud fire trucks and the Seafair Pirates who have a cannon that they shoot off. It is really loud and she started crying :( But anyway, it was fun to take my family to this parade since I grew up in West Seattle. We went to watch every year and several times I was IN the parade with different dance groups or with the community center!

Here are some pics from today!

Eating lunch, nom nom

Excited for the parade to start

Dancing to the band music

What's coming next?

Scared of the pirates :(
Such a fun summer day!  Tonight Dustin and I are going to dinner just the two of us to celebrate his birthday which is tomorrow!

Cheers to a sunny Seattle Friday!!

Fun at the Zoo

We had super fun morning at the Woodland Park Zoo! We went with my best friend Kim, and her kids.  The weather was PERFECT today!

Playing at the indoor playground

Austin teaching Leah how to use the magnifying glass to look at rocks and shells
Drum drum drum!

Watching the elephant get a bath

She loved following the big kids around

Leah and Gracie

Leah and Cameron

Leah loved her stamp from the dinosaur exhibit
The raptors moved around and spit water out of their mouths! Leah hated it and started crying!

She was pretty much terrified of the dinosaurs :(

Much more fun to sit on the dinosaur that didn't move!

We can't wait to go to the zoo again soon!!

One Joy of Summer

FRESH FRUIT!!!

We just got home from a trip to Trader Joe's and got a bunch of yummy ORGANIC fruits & veggies. Their prices for organic items are comparable which is one of the reasons I love that store!

Now Leah and I are going to devour the above picture :-)

Concert at the Park

OK so after my last boohoo post about it not feeling like summer, etc........We just had SUCH a fun evening! The weather cooperated and didn't rain! There is a park close to our place that does a summer concert at the park series every Wednesday night and tonight was the first one.  Since the park is within walking distance, we loaded up the stroller, stopped at Subway for some sandwiches, and headed to the park!  I think this was the first real picnic we have done with Leah!  We ate dinner, she played on the playground, and then, like always, Leah stole the show and danced up a storm and had the musicians giving her shout outs!!

I took a LOT of pictures! My inner wannabe photographer that only has a hundred dollar camera :) loves taking pictures of my little lady! :)

Leah got her own kids turkey sandwich kids meal, but mostly ate the olives and apple slices :)

So excited to not be strapped down while she ate!

This pic would be cuter if she didn't have a mouth full of bread :)

Let's start this party!

Dance Dance!

So much fun!

Extreme close up!

Taking a break!

Come on Daddy let's dance some more!

We are definitely going to go to these concerts every week!  (Let's cross our fingers that the weather stays nice!)

O Summer, Where Art Thou?

I feel like I have been a bad blogger lately!  Instead of being too busy to blog, I feel like there isn't anything all that interesting to post about!

Me & Leah at KidsQuest Museum
First of all, the weather has been terrible in Seattle. It is more like fall then summer. Like mid 60s and rain! It is opposite weather from the rest of the country!  UGH It is actually really depressing.  When all of Leah's activities (Gymboree, etc.) ended I was excited for lots of daily fun in the sun. Except for a few days, that hasn't really happened yet!  So we have been kind of bored, like we are just waiting for the weather to get better and not doing all that much.  Leah is SO active though and we need to get out of the house every day so that we don't go crazy. It sucks to have to go to the mall to walk around during the summer! Luckily my mom has the summer off so we have been hanging out with her a lot!
Hanging out at the Mill Creek Street Fair (yep in the rain)
We are still trying to look for a new house. That process is frustrating too since the area we live is very expensive. And we have very picky taste so aren't willing to settle for something that isn't as nice as we want.  We are expanding our search area so hopefully we will find something soon!  We just need to get OUT of our tiny condo! Our condo is nice but soooooo small AND the neighbors below us go out on their deck to smoke every hour and the smoke comes right in making our place smell like a freakin' casino, YUCK! So we have to keep our windows closed all the time, making it very stuffy.
Leah watching the Tim Noah concert front and center!
Sorry this post is a little rambly and complainy :-)

Wow all of my blogger friends seem to be obsessed with Pinterest! I am afraid to add yet another online activity to my life, so I am going to try to stay away! :-)
Bubbles bubbles!
On the positive side of things - this weekend the weather is supposed to be nicer. Sunday is Dustin's birthday so we have some fun things planned!

And I am not holding my breath, but the sun is peaking through the clouds now.....! :-)
