Last Weekend

This post is a little late but I wanted to share some things we did last weekend. It was nice weather for a few days so we got lots of outside time.

One fun thing we did was go to Leah's friend Emma's 2nd birthday party. It was a tea party theme and just adorable!!
All dressed up!
Adorable little tables set up
Personalized chairs
Leah and the birthday girl. Leah enjoyed her first ring pop!
All the little girls (and one boy!)

We also got a chance to work out in our yard a little bit. Our yard is pretty small but there is lots we want to do to make it look nicer.  Dustin did a lot of work on our grass and I filled up a whole bin of dead plants leftover from last year.  It is looking nicer, but now we need to plant some flowers and a few trees along the fence for more privacy. And we also want to get a little table/chairs and Dustin really wants a little fire pit.

Dustin also set up Leah's sand/water table that she got for her birthday and had it all ready for her when she woke up from her nap.

She LOVED it and it kept her entertained for quite awhile!  I couldn't even get her to look up for a picture!

This week we have kept busy with a few playdates, drs appointments and errands.  This weekend the weather is looking like it will be great again - hooray!

Do not say the following to a pregnant woman...

Being pregnant for my second time and having multiple pregnant friends, I thought I would compile a list of ridiculously rude things to say to a pregnant lady. Some of these might not bother some people, but they are my pet peeves.

"Hey Fatty."  Yep I got this one at a family function.

"Are you SURE there is only one in there??" My teeny tiny friend who is 9 months pregnant and all belly has been asked this 4 times. Really people?

Similar to the last few but "You are HUGE!" is really a surefire way to make an already self conscious pregnant woman feel like crap.

"It is SOOOO hard going from 1 to 2 kids. Just wait!"  Gee thanks.  How is that helpful?

"Sleep and rest now while you can!"  Umm duh I am trying. Easier said than done, especially with a 2 year old.

"WHAT!?!?!?! You don't want an epidural? You are CRAZY!" It is a natural process people, our bodies were meant to give birth.  I have lots of opinions on this but I will leave it at that.

Since we had a girl first it was "So are you hoping for a boy this time!?" Uh no, we would just love a healthy baby. It actually really annoys me when people assume that you are hoping for the opposite sex, although I guess some people probably do.

"Do you have the name picked out?" Everyone asks this. We actually do but we aren't telling! It is hard enough for me and Dustin to decide on a name, and we do NOT want any other input thankyouverymuch. We didn't tell anyone Leah's name before she was born and it drove everyone nuts. You already know that there is a baby coming AND the gender, you can wait a few more months to hear the name.

And finally - DO NOT TOUCH my stomach unless you are my husband or daughter.  The baby is inside, doesn't know you are there, can't see you, and can't feel it. Please do not invade my personal space.

I am sure there are more that aren't on the top of my head.  Please share some of the crazy comments you have received!

Random Phone Pics

I am so glad my phone has camera and video for when I forget my camera at home!

Here are a few pics from the last few weeks. The weather has been getting so much nicer! Still around 60 degrees but that temp plus sunshine equals very happy Seattleites.  We have been getting outside as much as possible lately!

The first few are from our walk to the playground one day last week.
Leah loves exploring and picking up rocks and leaves and flowers.

I wanted to try putting curlers in Leah's hair for the first time! She actually let me put them in and it looked soooo cute!

But then she pulled them out after about 20 minutes so her hair didn't get curly but had some nice body for a few minutes after :-)  We'll have to try again when she's a little older and will leave them in longer!
A trip to the park on Monday. This girl LOVES playing in gravel, haha!
And another trip to the playground today with Kim and Gracie.
 Ducks!
There was a nice lady there who gave the girls some pieces of bread to feed the ducks. Leah LOVED that!
 Leah and Gracie.
Yesterday I went to put a load of laundry in the wash and when I came back I saw that Leah was in my makeup bag.  It was really cute to watch.

When I told her we are all done with makeup she said - "No, I getting ready still!!"  haha!

And then I got this video of Leah singing the alphabet song, in super speed :-)  and spelling her name.

Happy Sunny Friday!

Paint Away

This morning Sheri & Ashlyn invited us to go paint with them.  We went to one of those ceramic painting places where you can pick out what you want to paint - little animal figures, plates, mugs, frames, etc., and you paint them and then they glaze and fire them for you. Leah is finally at a good age for this and had a lot of fun!

So excited!
Leah chose a little unicorn to paint. And the colors she chose were pink, yellow, blue and purple.

This is when she was all done, the colors actually went together making it look really neat!
Now we have to wait about a week until we can go pick up the finished product. I guess the colors will all get a little darker.  Can't wait to see how it will look!

After that we let the girls play outside and we went to lunch at Claim Jumper (they have free toddler meals, woohoo!).

Glad the sunshine is sticking around longer than originally predicted!

Easter 2012

This was probably my favorite Easter in a long time!  The weather was great, Leah got spoiled, and we got to spend time with our favorite people!

We hosted brunch at our house. I kept it simple (cheated, ha!) and got a few quiches from Costco, and we had orange rolls, bacon, and fruit salad.  My mom & Scott and Neil & Esther came over.  They all brought eggs to hide for Leah.

That morning before everyone came over, Leah had to search for her Easter basket!
It was hiding behind the couch!
She loved everything and went through each item one by one

Then we got dressed up and our family arrived.  My mom is so cute and hid another basket for Leah on the back porch.

And she brought one for baby boy!!

Daddy opened baby brother's :)
I got one too!!
Brunch time!

Peeps s'mores!!
Bird's nests
And finally it was time for the egg hunt.

Leah loved her little bonnet but the wind kept blowing it off!
Every time she found an egg she wanted to open it right away to see what was inside!
Uncle Neil got to hunt for a few eggs too since his birthday is this week!

Leah and Grammy

That evening we went to Dustin's mom's house for dinner and yet another egg hunt!  It was such a busy day, Leah was worn out!!  But so much fun!
