Neighborhood Egg Hunt

This morning our neighborhood had their first annual Easter Egg Hunt!  We had perfect weather today for an outdoor activity like that.  Today got up to 60 - woohoo!  Haha!  But it was really sunny which is a nice change for us from the rain!
This was Leah's first real egg hunt with other kids. Last year she was only 14 months so we put out a few eggs for her to find but she didn't completely get it. This year, she did.  The only problem was that the age groups were 1-5 and 6-12. So she was up against 5 year olds!  They were trying to keep track of how many kids came in, and said that there should be five eggs for each kid.  But once those kids started running, most of them were scooping up more than five.....Poor Leah only got ONE.  Then she was looking around like, Where are more eggs???  It was fine, we were able to distract her with the bubbles and sticker that were in her egg and Dustin even went and hid her egg one more time after all the other kids were gone.  I think she still had fun.  However, we are definitely going to do a big egg hunt tomorrow with our family and since she is the only kid, the eggs will be all for HER!  Can't wait!

Here are some pics from today (and yes, she insisted she keep her sunglasses on the entire time!) -
Excited and ready to go to the park for the egg hunt!

Playing on the swings waiting to start.

Little Leah was one of the smallest kids.

But she was focused and ready!

Ready, set , GO!

Found one!

Are there more??

Woohoo bubbles!

Pretty girl :)

Blow the bubbles Daddy!

The Easter Bunny was there too! At first she was terrified and didn't want to go near him. But after awhile and seeing other kids go sit by him, she did too! But that was with Daddy's protection of course :-)

Holidays are getting so much more fun the older Leah gets!!

Leah's Easter Basket

I always like looking back to remember what I put in Christmas stockings, Easter baskets, etc. So I will share what we are putting in Leah's this year! I have been collecting stuff since February. :-)

Dr. Seuss books, glitter stickers, finger paints, molding clay, some videos since she hardly has any - Elmo's World, Dora, Barney and the Tinkerbell movie. Elmo learning cards - colors, shapes & matching. And a few treats - animal crackers, m&ms and a bunny rice krispie treat.
Also, we got Leah an easel from IKEA that the Easter bunny will deliver. It has chalkboard on one side and whiteboard on the other and you can roll paper over the top too. And to go along with it we got some chalk, whiteboard pens and markers.  We did do a little more this year than usual.....but this is the last big holiday where Leah will be an only child!  So she gets a little spoiled one more time..... :-)  And some of it is stuff that Baby Boy will use and enjoy too!

Our Week So Far

This has been a pretty mellow week so far.  Monday was the really nice weather day so we had fun going to the playground for awhile.  The sun also gave me a huge energy burst and I got some cleaning and projects done around the house.  I still need to mop my kitchen floors though.....for some reason that chore is so daunting to me!  And I have started going through all of Leah's old baby clothes that I have been hanging onto in case I was going to have another girl.  Now that I am not, I am trying to donate and sell most of it. I found a kid's consignment store close to me and made $15 from a stack of dresses.  Not as much as I'd hoped, but more than if I had just donated them!  I am also going to put some things on Craigslist. It makes me sad, though, to let some of these things go! I will of course hold on to a few special items!

Little Miss is really into going into the pantry to get her own snacks these days......
She was trying to be sneaky but she got caught! :)

We tried out a Pinterest activity that I have seen over and over.....Mess free finger painting!
She would touch the baggie and then look at her hands like, "What? They aren't getting messy!?"

Drawing pictures in it with her spoon :)
We also decorated a fun Easter bunny mask.
Silly girl had her sunglasses on all morning while she played :)

We have also had a few playdates this week!  We are excited for a neighborhood Easter egg hunt on Saturday and brunch on Sunday!  I am hosting so I better finalize my menu!

Baby bump pic :)

Sunday evening our friends invited us over for a yummy dinner.  Sheri and I have been friends since high school and now have daughters 10 weeks apart in age AND are both pregnant with baby boys who will be about 13 weeks apart in age!

We have tons of pics together during our first pregnancies so we needed to get at least one this time around. This is also the first actual side view pic I have taken!

I am about 23 weeks now, and Sheri is 36 weeks!
Us with our cutie girls (and boys too, haha!)!

Leah and Ashlyn were chasing eachother around it was hilarious! Although the glass table was giving me anxiety!!
Taking a break with the Daddies
Stickers!
Today it is absolutely gorgeous weather. Upper 50s but bright sunshine which makes it seem much warmer, especially when I was pushing Leah uphill in her stroller :-). We just got home from the playground.  She woke up at 6:30am this morning for some reason so I am glad it was nice enough for us to get outside for awhile. We got home from the park and she fell asleep right when she laid down in her bed!  I don't think the weather is supposed to stay nice all week BUT it is looking good for Easter (fingers crossed!).

Easter Egg Coloring

This morning we had the 'L' family over to dye Easter eggs!  Leah and Madeline weren't really that into it being the busy 2 year olds that they are.  But they both had fun plopping a few eggs into the colors :-)  It was fun having them over and getting to celebrate one of my favorite times of year!  I have said this before but I LOVE springtime (and summer) because of all the pastels and flowers and baby animals, etc. :-)

Huge Mommy fail dressing her in a white skirt and tights for a coloring with DYE project!
But she looked so sweet in her little Easter shirt :)
Watching out the window excitedly for Madeline to arrive!
I made cinnamon streusel coffee cake and fresh pineapple
All set to color some eggs!

We are excited for Easter next weekend!
