Zoo, Sun, Soccer, etc.!

Last Friday we went to the zoo for the first time this year! And Carter's first time ever! We renewed our membership and I have a feeling it will get very well used this year!

Leah and Gracie

Saturday was such a full day and the first really warm day.  We started out with Leah's soccer class. She liked it much better than the first class which was cold and rainy. She did a great job (with some of Daddy's encouragement and guidance :-)

Soccer Dads!

Go Leah Go!  I didn't get a good pic but at the end of the class she kicked the ball into the goal!
Officially Soccer Moms now! :-)
After soccer we went to the playground with our friends.
Soccer is at a beautiful park on a small lake. We had fun walking around after playtime.

Carter really enjoyed the scenery, ha!
After the park, we went to eat lunch at Red Robin which has the nicest patio! We love going there on nice days! I can't believe Carter is old enough to be sitting in high chairs already!!
Then we made a quick trip to the farmers market where my father in law has a booth set up.
After a walk around and a trip to Trader Joe's, we headed home. It was already well past nap time so we chose to forgo it that day. Even though Leah still needs naps most days, it is kind of nice now that she isn't a complete mess if we skip it. That will come in handy this summer for day trips and for our San Diego trip coming up!!
We played in the backyard and I set up a huge piece of paper and let Leah go nuts with some finger paint :-)
Mmmmm Mommy's homemade popsicles are yummy :-) (So easy and healthier than store bought! I just blended up frozen blueberries, strawberries, pineapple and added apple juice and a bit of agave! Then pour in molds and freeze!)
Since the kids were a sticky mess I stuck them both in the tub for a bubble bath before an early bedtime for everyone!!
Loving the sunshine!

I am so behind!

Once again I am so behind on posting all of the fun stuff we have been doing. So the next few posts will be a catch up from the last few weeks.

We have had awesome weather, especially last weekend when it got into the mid 80s!! So we had our first trip to the beach park, first wading pool swim, first zoo trip, first trip to the Farmer's Market, and lots of outside playtime!

I will start with some pics of our friend Greyson's birthday party which was a few weekends ago. It was at Gymboree and SO much fun for the kids!  Leah LOVED her Gymboree classes when she was 1 (wasn't that just yesterday!!!?? sigh....)  I really hope I am able to do as many classes with Carter as I did with Leah!

Carter was able to get in on the fun! :)

Daredevil girl!! Climbing up and then jumping off stuff!

Very cute party!

A Day at the Farm

My friend recently told me about a cute farm with lots of activities for kids that is pretty close to where I live. So a few days ago Sheri, Monica and I took our kiddos to Fox Hollow Farm. It was pretty much Heaven for a 3 year old!  Baby animals to pet, train rides, bouncy houses, play cottages, pony rides, etc. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back again soon!!  I took a ton of pictures so here we go...... :-)

Ashlyn, Leah, Violette

Ponies!

Baby chicks!

This pig had babies the day before. They were all in a little pile and so tiny!!

Leah loves horsies :-)

This was so funny. That is a baby cow and a baby lamb loving on Leah :-)

Little baby lambs! They were sooooo cute!
Tiny baby bunny!
The girls went on the train ride all by themselves!

So much fun!

There were 3 huge bouncy houses and slides. They were pretty wet from some recent rain so the girls just went in the little one.

One of the cute cottages. They all have mini furniture and kitchens inside and slides coming down from the top level!

Sleepy boy :)

They had these mini four wheelers that the girls rode by themselves! Leah loved it. I was having a heart attack running beside her making sure she didn't run off the rode, ha!
Such a big kid!

Picnic time!

We had to ride the train again before we left!

Annnnnd out :-)
Seriously the neatest place ever! Can't wait to go back again!

Tulips

On Sunday we went to Mount Vernon to see the Skagit Valley tulip fields! We hadn't been in several years and I thought it would be a fun family day trip.  The weather was supposed to be ok, but it was raining off and on and pretty chilly but we decided to go anyway.
Pretty daffodils

Leah was not in the mood to smile for pictures. In this one I said "DON'T look at me!!" :)

Someone offered to take our picture and this was the best we got :)

Waiting for the tractor trolley to take us around the tulip fields!

Leah loved the tractor ride! Carter was cold and fussy.....

Leah kept trying to smell the flowers... :)

Leah taking a nap these days is hit or miss. She still naps most days though. Yesterday she skipped nap because we went to a birthday lunch for my mom and bro and then we were running errands. Today we didn't try to get back home in time for nap and this was Leah on the way home....She literally hasn't fallen asleep in the car in over a year or maybe more!! She slept for a little over an hour, and even stayed asleep while Dustin and I stopped half way home to use the bathroom and grab something to eat!
I now have 3 vases of tulips around my house. :-) They will look beautiful when they bloom!!

It was a fun family day!!!
