Calm before the Craziness!
The weather definitely turned into fall overnight here in Seattle! Sunday was in the 90s and then we wake up Monday morning to a gray day in the 60s. It's ok since I feel like we really enjoyed our summer! And, this week I have started packing and organizing for our move! You know how you feel if you have a week off before the start of a new job or before school starts? You want to relax and take it easy as much as possible? That is how I feel this week. Once we get the keys to our house we will be crazy busy for at least several weeks.
Monday I met up with a group of moms who walk every week. I am looking forward to joining their group and getting some regular exercise outside! And we all have babies the same age too so hopefully we will have some fun playdates!
Today we met Statia and Dallas for a fun morning of playing in the park. Dallas just started walking, yay! Watch out for these two pretty soon!
Now today when Leah wakes up from her nap we are off to go sign the closing papers for our house and then it is 100% official! Yay!
This was cute, yesterday Leah climbed up there and was watching the lawn mowers for like 20 minutes straight! |

I love this picture. Leah LOVES ducks so she ran over to the edge and just stared at them! |

HOT Weekend!
The temps were about 90 degrees this weekend! Hottest of the summer and I loved it. Maybe since I know summer is almost over, or that it is cooling down pretty well at night, but I am not bothered by the heat at all. And we haven't even gotten out our portable AC unit from storage!
Saturday was a pretty mellow morning. Dustin went flying and then to play soccer. I took care of some chores/shopping while Leah went to play at Grammy's house. Later in the afternoon we went to a local festival that had bouncy houses, local vendors, food booths, live bands, etc. Leah got to experience her first bouncy house, and to say she loved it is an understatement!!
Then on Sunday we went to finally do the activity that Dustin got me a gift certificate for on Valentine's Day! We went to do a ropes challenge course/ziplines. OMG it was so much fun! But a lot more physically challenging then I was expecting! And add 90+degrees into the mix and it was a strenuous day! I am sore and sunburned! But it was worth it! :)
When we got home we took Leah to our pool to swim for possibly the last time! It was SO refreshing after a hot day!
Looks like the hot weather is going to start tapering down. I am bummed but so glad that we got out and enjoyed it as much as we did!
Oh and BTW - ONE WEEK until we get the keys to our NEW HOUSE!!! :-)

YUM one of my favorites, chocolate covered strawberries. Obviously Leah loved them too :) |

Definitely not for those with a fear of heights! |
I got the hang of it after awhile |
Just hangin' around, haha! |

We were so hot and tired and hungry that these beers were the best tasting thing on Earth! And I am not normally a beer drinker! :) |

Soakin' Up the Sun!
Today we were outside all day long trying to enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts!!
This morning first thing we walked to a nice park which is about a mile away. It is a nice walk along a small lake.
Leah played at the playground for awhile and then we walked home for lunch and nap.
After Leah woke up, our friends Katie and Cohen came over for a swimming party! We were the only people there which was great!
After the hubbies got home from work we all went to dinner together.
Leah and Cohen had a romantic date that included sharing a kids meal, sitting next to eachother playing, and giving kisses :)
Now we are trying to decide what to do for our (probably) last hot weather weekend of the summer!

Fun with Ice!
I found this fun project on a parenting website and thought we should try it since Leah LOVES ice right now! Also, I have seen Kelly from Kelly's Korner do this before! Since the weather was nice we put a blanket out on our deck! Take one bowl filled with a little water, another with some ice cubes. I gave her a slotted spoon, and also put out some of her plastic blocks. This kept her busy for some time!
For anyone looking for fun activities for your toddler, I found this awesome website -

Just enter your child's age and they send you daily activities! It's great!
