Our Home - Upstairs

The upstairs is really what sold us on this house. We love it. It has a big wide hallway with all the bedrooms and laundry room.  We hang out upstairs a lot during the day. I just lock the baby gate at the top of the stairs and Leah can play while I do laundry or other chores.

We didn't know what to put on this landing at first but then found this perfect sized vase!

Master bedroom -  I still need to frame some wedding pics for above the bed.

Master bathroom - (I still have not taken a bath in that tub can you believe it? I need to ASAP!)

Leah's room -
This ceiling fan was left by the previous owners and matches her decor perfectly!!

Leah's bathroom -

Before Leah was even born Dustin and I thought it would be so cute to have a ducky bathroom for our little ones. We finally were able to do it!

Office/den -
Dustin tried to make this his man cave when we moved in but that didn't last long -muahahaha ;)

Laundry room -

I am glad I have these pictures documented because it will be interesting to see how the place changes over the next several years!

Our Home - Downstairs

Well I finally think we have done most of the big projects and decorating for our house! We still have some things we want to do, but those will be finished over time. I still keep reminding myself that it doesn't all need to be done now. And since we started with only Leah's and our bedroom furniture, loveseat, and dining room table, I think we have gotten a lot done in a month and a half.

Right next to the downstairs bathroom is a coat closet and the door to the garage.

Dining room - This is the room that needs the most work. We want a new, bigger dining room table and chairs. We also want to get some sort of wine shelf/table type thing along the side wall. And obviously I need to get curtains for the other window! I only got one pair to see if I would like them!

We are really comfortable in our house now that we have all of our furniture and most of our decor done!

Party & Toy Story Weekend

Hello, hope everyone is having a great weekend!  It is getting even more chilly and blustery here in Seattle.  All of the beautiful leaves will soon be gone! And then I hope it snows a lot this year :)

Saturday we had our housewarming party. I think everyone had fun. I am bummed I didn't take more pics. I didn't even think of it until most of the guests left and it mellowed out a bit.  Everyone seemed to come all at the same time! I never really hosted any parties at the condo since it was so small. But I LOVE having people over!  Our guests were so generous with gifts and they know us so well - we have a full wine rack now! Woohoo! :)

Appetizer table
Drinks. I went to Costco and got a few of those huge Cooks sparkling wine bottles, white wine, soda, and I made my mulled cider and had spiced rum on the side for an adult version :)

Leah got a lot of gifts from our guests too including this ladybug pillow pet

My good friend Maia

A few of my fellow mommy friends with their little ones, Sheri & Ashlyn and Katie & Cohen
Overall a great party!

Today we took Leah to Disney on Ice, Toy Story 3. My cousin got free tickets from someone at work and passed them along to us!  I wouldn't have ever thought to bring Leah to something where she needs to sit down for a few hours straight but decided to take the tickets anyway. Leah absolutely LOVED it and actually sat still in our laps throughout the ENTIRE show!!! We couldn't believe it!  It was such a fun family outing for the three of us that we will be talking about for a long time.

Before the show even started she was scared by the announcers voice saying that the show was about to start. But once Mickey skated out all fears were gone :)

It was so cool seeing all the characters in the big costumes!

Clapping along to "You've Got a Friend in Me"

Look!

Hanging out at intermission

I was so glad they had the original Disney characters come out at the beginning and end.

Toward the end of the show Leah got sleepy and laid down but still kept watching
Fun and memorable weekend. Now just one more week of our regular schedule before we are off to Texas for Thanksgiving!

Pictures from the Science Center

First a big thanks to Marjorie over at the blog of mj for the chicken pot pie idea! Check out her blog! :-)

The other day we went to the Science Center with Statia and Dallas. My mom took me and my brother all the time when we were little. It's been years since I've been there so it was fun to take Leah and see the place again!  It is right next door to the Space Needle.

They have a huge toddler play area which is where we hung out most of the time.

Leah loved the water play area, but did NOT love the waterproof apron that she had to wear and kept trying to take it off  :-)

Then we headed over to the dinosaur exhibit which made Leah very uncomfortable. She is so independent and normally just runs around on her own. In the dinosaur exhibit, she turned to me looking scared and said, "Mama, up!" and then put her head on my shoulder. Awww I treasure those moments now that she is on the move so much and doesn't usually like being held!
Pretty scary!
Lastly it was on to the butterfly house, which is so neat!  Tons of colorful butterflies just fly around everywhere and sometimes land on you!
Hi little butterfly!
It was a really fun day!
That last picture is cute. My brother got married at the top of the Space Needle last year, and we have books for Leah that show the Space Needle so we talk about how Uncle got married there. So in this pic she was pointing to it saying "Uncle!".
