Two Peas in a Pod

Leah has a friend named Madeline. They are five days apart in age. They are SO similar in a lot of ways, both very silly, energetic, outgoing, funny and of course, geniuses! ;-)

They had fun yesterday eating pancakes & berries for breakfast (thanks Allison!), playing at the park, and then having a treat of popsicles!
Going to the playground

Mischief!

Awww kisses!
Fun times with these cute girlies!

Can't stop thinking about my house!

Now that we have bought our house, my mind is consumed with it. How to decorate, how to organize, what things to buy, etc.  I cannot WAIT! Everyone says how annoying moving is but I seriously am ecstatic about starting fresh and everything having it's own place!  I am literally DREAMING about it!

Here are a few teaser pics for you that I took during the inspection.  So the furniture and decor is the previous owners!

I can't wait to RELAX......

Catching up

Well we are just catching up from a long weekend in Long Beach, WA. It was a fun weekend away. I just love the ocean so it is always fun to go there. I have a post with pics of that coming soon.

Anytime we go away, I love to have our place clean so that there is no stress when we come home. However, unloading all our stuff, dirty clothes, etc just makes a mess when we get back anyway ha. I always feel like I need to wash ALL the clothes that were taken on a trip, even if they weren't worn.  So pretty much all day yesterday I was doing laundry, and cleaning up from our cats that were here for three days alone, yikes!  Nothing too bad, just a few piles of cat puke around the house and cat food scattered all around the kitchen. :)

While I am scrambling around cleaning yesterday morning, I realized it was the day they are starting to put the new roof on our building. Which means lots of LOUD hammering and banging. So luckily my mom lives 5 minutes away and has a crib so we went over there so that Leah could take her nap. The project is going on all week so we are staying out and about a lot and trying to get Leah to nap in her stroller or crib, which is harder and harder these days,

Today my mom and I went to meet my cousin Statia and her little boy Dallas for lunch.  These two are really starting to interact it's so cute.

At least having to be out of the house gives us all the more reason to make fun plans with friends. Our week is already filled up with fun things to do. AND the weather is actually summer-like this week, woohoo! :-)

The Zoo with Uncle & Grammy

We are so excited now that Neil is done with law school and the bar exam because now he is free for awhile to hang out with us and do fun stuff!

This morning we went to the zoo. Leah got so overly tired that it is about 4pm and she STILL has not gone to sleep for her nap (usually at 1pm). I hear her in her room singing and playing.  Ugh!  I may just need to go get her soon and make sure she gets to bed extra early tonight!

Cute little bunnies!

Pretty flamingos
I think this may be Leah's favorite part of the zoo - the Carousel!

Cool leopard

:)
Lunch time!

We love the giraffes

Leah and her new lion friend we got for her!

And done. Sleepy girl and her favorite uncle :)

Summer Pasta Salad

This pasta salad is the easiest thing ever to make, and there are so many variations! For veggies, this time I used what we always seem to have on hand - tomatoes, cucumber, avocado and olives.  But in the past I have used artichokes, red peppers, different types of olives, zucchini, etc. Just whatever you have or sounds good! You could also use any sort of Italian style dressing. I used the Tuscan Italian Vinaigrette from TJ's.
Cook the pasta according to directions then rinse with cold water. Chop all the veggies and salt & pepper them.
Mix and done! Bread crumbs are my new thing that I am throwing in a lot of different dishes. It gives this pasta salad a little added flavor and texture! I also sprinkled in some parmesan cheese and sunflower seeds.
When I served it, I put a scoop on top of chopped romaine lettuce and drizzled with a little extra balsamic vinegar and bread crumbs.
YUM!
