Leah is talking a LOT and along with attempting to repeat what we say, she can clearly say -
Hi Mama (or Dada or Baby etc)
Bye Bye
Fish, Elmo, Oops, Please, No, Ball, Yum, Yay
Night Night
Bubbles
Cheese
Bow (as in hair bow)
Boo Boo
Eye, Nose
She can point up and say "up", then point down and say "down"
I am probably forgetting a few because there are new words every day!
She is starting to play more with dolls and stuffed animals and makes them stand up and dance around.
Still climbing up on everything and has gotten a few nasty scrapes and bruises.
This is the worst one so far, it happened outside on the cement steps a few days ago. She was sleepy, so a little more clumsy than usual. :-( Of course I freaked when I saw her bleeding, but thank God for Dustin who attempts to keep me calm.
She says "more" a LOT, when she wants more food, but also when she wants to do something again.
She loves looking in the mirror and squealing at herself. She knows it is her because if we put a hat or sunglasses or something on her, she will go look at herself in the mirror.
She is still in 12 month size clothes.
She LOVES other babies and kids.
She will run up to us and hug us which is so adorable. And when Dustin gets home from work she runs up to him saying "Hi Dada!" and gives him a hug.
Tantrums have become a new thing. Oh my goodness, if that girl doesn't get what she wants, forget it. It's full on, throw herself down on the ground screaming.
Here is an example -
We haven't technically started disciplining her, but we just ignore her when she throws fits and don't give her what she wants when she acts that way. Or we will go sit her in the middle of her room and walk out. We strongly believe in no spanking or yelling.
Usually things are better after a snack. :-)
For being such a small girlie, she does like to eat! I can't think of anything off the top of my head that she refuses to eat! Of course like all toddlers, one day she eats like a teenage boy, the next day barely anything!
We are down to just one bottle of milk a day, before bedtime. I think we are going to stop bottles all together in the next few weeks. She seems like she is over it and so am I. But I will miss the extra snuggle time :-)
Leah loves when we sing "I'm a Little Teapot", and here she is tipping over to pour it out :-)
Leah and Daddy playing -
We have had a fun day so far going to Gymboree class this morning, and then going to the Children's Museum later today!
Happy 16 Month Birthday sweet girl!
I just love pictures of Leah she is sooo cute, so I refuse to believe that sweet looking girl can throw tantrums :) haha
